Ventura Pier Rehab
The Port of Ventura's Fishing Pier was plagued by accelerated decomposition with a completely spidered slab with degraded concrete spalls as deep as four to eight feet along severely corroded reinforcement. ecoConstruction was contracted to scabble off the top two feet of slab then sound for deeper hollows for more advanced selective demolition. Once down to solid substrate, ecoConstruction stabilized the base, patched the deep spalls and poured and finished a new topping slab. A protective high performance epoxy coating was then squeegeed on with a medium aggressive non-skid grit, then two urethane top coats for a protective wearing surface. Due to the opening of squid season, the Port where a majority of the US and world squid are harvested, ecoConstruction was required to complete the entire contract in 15 working days.
